Special election:

Two city director positions, wards 1 and 2

Must fill out paperwork from City Clerk's office at 623 Garrison.  City Clerk's office has the packets

Filing period ends Friday 2-29-08

Must have 50 verified signatures of registered voters to put your name on ballot

$10 filing fee

Must reside in the ward for which you're running

Must have resided in Fort Smith for at least the past six months

Must be at least 21 years oldTerm of service will be until December 2008

General election:

For four city director positions, wards 1 through 4

Filing period May 14 to June 3

Same qualifications as above
