I am excited to announce an ongoing event for YELers.
With 2008 being an election year, we want to provide our membership with the opportunity to politically educate themselves.
Welcome to YELection 2008.
Super Tuesday is next week, so what better time to kick off YELection 2008.
YELection 2008 is just a way for you to get plugged in to what’s going on in this year-o-politics. This is for informational purposes only. YEL, as a group, is not choosing sides or telling you which way to vote. We want to provide you with information so that YOU can make the best decision for yourself.
YELection 2008’s goal is to inform you the member of what’s going on within the city, the county, the state, and the nation. Since this is a new idea, we are open to any suggestions or feedback you may have.
Are you ready to get plugged in? Stay tuned for information posted tomorrow regarding "Watch Parties" for Super Tuesday 2008.
Step 1 is to get registered to vote
Many people aren't sure if they're even registered to vote and want to know who to call to find out and to get registered if they aren't already. Here's all you have to do
1) Call the County Clerk's office at 782-5065
they can tell you if you're registered or not. If you've moved they can change your info right over the phone
2) If you aren't registered then all you have to do is stop by the Clerk's office and fill out the form. The office is located in the courthouse bldg at the corner of Rogers and 6th st - room # 102.
Once you fill out the form there is a 30-day waiting period before you can vote. So if you really want to help a brother out - register before March 10th (this Monday) so you can vote for me in the special election on April 8th.
Another option is you can download the voter registration form online at http://www.votenaturally.org/all_about_voting.html After you've done that you can then drop it off at the Clerk's office or mail it in.
Get Registered and Vote!
