This past weekend June 15th and 16th, was the 25th Annual Judge Issac C. Parker Chili Cook-off and Arkansas State BBQ Competition there were Chili lovers, BBQ Chefs and BBQ Aficionados from 3 states; 62 chili competitors and 32 plus BBQ competitors.  

The event was a benefit for the Fort Smith Boys Shelter. 

I was fortunate enough to compete as a home town BBQ chef as "Desperately Cooking 4 You" This team was sponsored by my wife "Desperately Shopping 4 You"; "The First Tee of Fort Smith"; "Arklahoma Driving Academy", "The Sacred Grounds" and a couple of private donars as well. 

My Team consisted of Me, My Wife Jennifer, My 3 Children (Whom 2 of which compteded in Jr Chili and placed 1st and 2nd in the Jr Chili Division)  I also had my Friend Robert who stayed out there with me all night Friday Night. 

This competition was exciting and the work invovled was overwhelming.  Who could imagine that it woud be so much work.  But it is all for a good cause this benefit helped raise money for the Boys Shelter, a very worthy cause.

I am excited to share with you, that I Recieved:  2nd Place in Ribs, 1st Place in Pork, and Grand Champion overall for this 2007 cooking event.
