Hey YELers,
Patricia Brown (Fort Smith Classic Tournament Director) was the guest speaker at our Leadership Luncheon earlier this month. During the lunch she proposed that YEL sponsor the “Quiet Signs” for the Fort Smith Classic. It’s kind of a play on words…YEL on the Quiet Signs.
The sponsorship for the quiet signs is a bit pricey…$5,000. After I told her that the organization as a whole more than likely wasn’t going to drop $5,000 for the sponsorship, she came up with an idea of her own. Her idea was to find 50 YEL members willing to donate $100. She presented that to us at the luncheon. After the luncheon, I had a handful of YELers walk up to me and tell me to do this. Those YELers all agreed to be part of the 50 to help raise the funds for the sponsorship.
I like this idea and I don’t think it will be that difficult to find 50 of us willing to do this.
If you are interested in being a part of this, let me know. Call my office at 785-3918, send me a message on the YEL site, add a comment to this blog, or shoot an email to travis.w.lea [at] gmail [dot] com
I’ll be the first to step up and pledge some money. I agree to put in the first $500 (that’s what I was gonna give to the Classic anyway…I’ll just dedicate it to this project).
Let’s do this…$4,500 more to go.
