Storm teams

I have a relative who specializes in processing auto claims. She's on a storm team that was dispatched to this area today. As of this am, she was en route to either Alma or Van Buren. These teams work quickly -- processing the most serious damage first (vehicle interiors exposed to the elements, etc.) and then moving to those categorized as less serious.

From a property owners perspective, structures with "gaping holes" in roofs, walls, etc. will be processed first. Then, those of us with wet ceilings and walls -- and major window damage -- will come later.

We called 8 or 10 roofers today and only got one live humanoid who promises to call tomorrow for an estimate. Another roofer allowed us to leave a message. All the others had full mail boxes, busy signals, or weren't answering their phones.

Glass replacement crews are swamped, what with measuring, figuring estimates, and doing installation.

I don't particularly enjoy knowing thick plastic sheets are my only protection from the elements right now, but I invested in a brand new Louisville Slugger this evening. Read all about it here at www.tracyplaces.net.
