Hey gang. Wanted to let you all know about an important need right now in our community. We have a very small number of volunteers for Make A Wish in Fort Smith -- and on any given day, there are at least 4 to 5 children waiting on their wish to be granted! I have had the privilege of helping with several wish-grantings and you would not believe the JOY that comes from such a small amount of time and effort. Just simple things like balloons and cupcakes make a world of different for a child and their family. J I will be at this training and hope that you can carve out some time as well. However, I have been helping with wishes for quite some time and have NOT been through the training yet – so don’t let that stop you! There are some basic rules that will get you started if you cannot attend on Saturday the first. Please let me know if you’d like to help and I will let Felicia know (or you are welcome to contact her directly, please see below). Please pass this on to anyone else who you think would be interested. Have a great weekend and hope to see you all tomorrow night! We have a Wish Granting 101 training session scheduled in Ft. Smith on Saturday, March 1st at 1 p.m. The training is at Beall Barclay and Company, 3101 South 70th Street (Executive Park). It will last approximately 3 ½ hours, and light refreshments will be provided. We are facing a critical shortage of active Wish Granters in our West Central zone. Please come out and train if you haven’t been trained or if you are due for a refresher. Feel free to bring friends that might be interested, as well. We need them!Although RSVP’s are not required for this training, please respond with your shirt size if you know you are going to attend so that I can bring your Make-A-Wish t-shirt!Thanks for your time,FelishaFelisha C.
