The Young Emerging Leader organization’s mission for Economic Development will take place through the Economic Development Council. YEL will contribute towards economic development within the Greater Fort Smith Region by assisting in working to promote and retain young professionals in the community to serve as future executive and community leaders. By developing working relationships with businesses, city and state government, and universities, YEL works to ensure that its members are represented throughout the community, and by assisting in other economic development issues. YEL will actively accomplish its' overall economic development mission by developing and maintaining the following activities:

• Business seminars
• Professional lecture series
• Local professional job posting
• Championing development causes for the area
• Making the young professionals a strong voice/action group for the city
